Got cardio?

October 31, 2008 · Comments Off

Cardiovascular training is the common term for what I like to call metabolic conditioning (the term comes from Coach Greg Glassman of CrossFit LLC). You don’t have to go for a run to work your cardio (or met-con). Try this for a killer met-con workout:

Three rounds (for time) of:

  • box jumps, 60cm, 25
  • push-ups, 25
  • wall ball shots, 7kg, 25
  • sit-ups, 25

If any of these exercises are unfamiliar, please visit CrossFit.com.

If you try this workout do so safely and post your times as a comment.

Habits

October 30, 2008 · Comments Off

We all have them. They can be both positive and negative. But do we really bother to try to understand them? Do we take the time to try and improve our bad habits and develop our good habits?

What could you do today that would make you a better person? Which bad habit could you take steps to eliminate? Which good habit could you use to better advantage?

Understand your habits and you will better understand yourself. Understand yourself and your health & fitness can only improve.

Elite health & fitness in three lines

October 29, 2008 · 2 Comments

Health & fitness doesn’t have to be complicated. Here is how to achieve it:

  1. sleep nine hours each night in a completely dark room
  2. follow the paleo diet
  3. exercise intensely on a three day on, one day off rotation
